An Arc of Gold

About this piece

An arched blade of grass carries four water droplets above a reflective surface, its fine green striations sharply defined against a golden-yellow field. The inverted arc below creates a near-oval, balancing botanical detail with the softness of water and reflected light.

The story

I brought the camera low until the green blade and its reflection nearly enclosed a space of gold. Four drops rested along the curve, each holding a tiny distortion of the surrounding color. Through the lens, the blade became a bridge without losing its delicate grain. I kept the focus there, where water met green, and let everything beyond it soften into the warmth that filled the frame.
