About this piece

Broad petals shift from golden yellow to vivid pink around a pale central opening, while yellow-tipped stamens emerge beneath their overlapping folds. The tight framing reveals mottled surfaces, worn edges, and a small insect, setting the flower’s saturated color against deep background shadow.

The story

I moved close enough for the flower to fill the frame, letting the surrounding wood fall into darkness. What first drew me was the color: yellow warming into pink along each generous fold. Then I noticed the small marks, the browning edges, the tiny insect resting on a pale patch. I wanted to keep those details in the picture, to show a bloom whose brilliance belonged to something living rather than something perfect.
