Brilliant red, orange, and gold foliage fills the foreground, giving way to successive mountain ridges softened by blue haze. The story

Early November leaves the hillside poised between full color and bare branches. Light gathers on the grasses, and scattered orange leaves hold against the blue distance. Beyond the nearest trees, each ridge loses a little more definition to the haze. The eye travels outward until the woodland becomes a faint line beneath the pale sky.
