November Holds the Light

Tall trunks rise through a deciduous woodland, their largely bare branches tracing a fine network against an intensely blue sky. A sunburst beside a central trunk illuminates scattered orange foliage and the leaf-covered slope. The upward view gives the trees a monumental presence, balanced by the delicate remnants of autumn color.

The story

Early November opens the canopy to the sky. Between the trunks, the sun gathers into a small, brilliant star, and the remaining leaves glow amber at their edges. Below, fallen foliage spreads across the slope among patches of green. The eye follows the rough bark upward, leaving the crowded woodland floor for the spacious blue.
