An empty coastal road curves between a rocky shoreline and dense green vegetation, framed overhead by sweeping palm fronds. Sunlight catches the slender trunks and casts long shadows across the pavement, while the blue sea opens the composition to the left. The receding road gives this richly layered scene a quiet sense of invitation.

The story

Late November finds this shoreline green and bright beneath a canopy of palms. White surf gathers against the dark rocks, just below the road. Across the empty pavement, shadows form long bands that lead toward the bend. The sea remains in view between the trunks, an open blue counterpoint to the enclosing leaves.
