The story

I moved close enough for the surrounding foliage to soften into green, leaving the orchid’s pink petals to fill the frame. What held my attention was the darker fold at its center: a small, intricate shape beneath those broad, luminous surfaces. I kept part of the neighboring blossom in view, letting its cropped petals interrupt the composition. The photograph became less about an isolated flower than the space one bloom makes among others.
