The Shape Of Thrust

About this piece
A twin-engine fighter jet banks across a pale blue sky, its wings edged and partially veiled by white condensation. Sunlight picks out the gray airframe while two orange exhausts punctuate the cool palette. The diagonal composition holds the aircraft's forceful movement within a broad, uncluttered expanse.
The story
On the second day of January, the new year opens onto a sweep of blue. The aircraft turns, and the air briefly takes visible form along its wings. White folds soften the metal edges; two points of orange burn at the rear. Within the still frame, the turn seems to linger, its vapor already loosening into sky.
