About this piece
Six jets spread across a luminous blue sky, their banked wings revealing contrasting upper surfaces and shadowed undersides. White smoke trails sweep diagonally through the frame, linking the separated aircraft in a composition of precision, movement, and open space.
The story
On the first day of 2019, six aircraft draw diverging paths through blue. Sunlight catches a wing edge, a canopy, the bright red point of a nose. Behind them, white smoke widens from narrow lines into soft, unraveling ribbons. The year opens here without a horizon, only the measured distance between one moving form and another.
