About this piece

A gold car wheel fills the frame, its slender spokes radiating from a silver center cap set below the image’s midpoint. Bright highlights trace the curved metal against deep recesses, revealing the perforated brake disc behind the rim. The tight, oblique crop turns an automotive detail into a study of rhythm, surface, and arrested motion.

The story

In this November photograph, the wheel holds a concentrated warmth of gold. Light runs along each spoke, narrowing to a fine edge before slipping into shadow. Behind the polished surfaces, the brake disc offers a darker, rougher texture. Everything suggests rotation, yet the eye can linger over each curve without anything moving.
