About this piece
Four jets bank in close formation, their overlapping wings and tails creating a stepped arrangement against an expansive blue sky. Sunlight defines the white fuselages and red accents, while a broad smoke trail softens the geometry with a drifting, irregular edge.
The story
On the first day of 2019, four aircraft share a narrow corridor of blue. Their wings repeat like measured strokes, each held close to the next. Smoke stretches behind them, loosening into pale folds as the formation moves forward. The new year opens here with a contrast: exact alignment at the leading edge, a dissolving trace behind.
