The story

I was drawn to the way this flower held two colors at once: orange gathered tightly at the crown, yellow falling open below. I framed it low, leaving room for the surrounding green and the distant blooms to soften into color. Through the lens, the upright stem became a slender support for all that brightness. I wanted to keep the small details visible without losing the feeling of being surrounded by growing things.
