Small Fires Unfolding

Scarlet flower tubes radiate across the right side of the composition, their open tips edged in orange and yellow. Selective focus draws attention to the small blossoms and a nearby veined leaf, while surrounding foliage dissolves into deep green shadow.

The story

I was drawn first to the red, then to the small openings where it softened into gold. Through the lens, the leaves became broad fields of green, leaving the flowers to hold the frame. I kept the darker space beside them, wanting the cluster to feel neither isolated nor crowded. What stayed with me was that difference in scale: a handful of tiny blossoms carrying enough color to change the whole view.
