Suspended in Violet

Two green grass blades cross above a reflective surface, their fine parallel veins sharply defined beneath rounded water droplets. Saturated violet surrounds the blades, while the softer reflection below gives the composition a sense of suspended balance.

The story

I was drawn to the narrow space between the blades and their reflection. Along each green edge, water gathered into small lenses, holding fragments of violet and light. I framed the crossing blades so that their curves could stretch across the image, leaving the background to dissolve into color. What held my attention was the balance: the weight of each droplet, the thinness of the grass, and the quiet doubling beneath it.
