Seen from below, bamboo stalks converge beneath a dense canopy of narrow leaves. Sunlight brings out olive, gold, and green tones, tracing the segmented stems while small openings reveal the sky.

The story

I looked up and let the ground disappear from the frame. Above me, the bamboo crossed and converged, its dark joints marking intervals along the sunlit stems. Light slipped through the leaves on the left, turning their edges yellow, while small pieces of blue held open the canopy. I wanted to keep that sense of standing inside something taller than my attention could follow, with every line leading farther into green.
