About this piece

Vivid orange plumage stands against a largely monochrome setting of sand, rock, and palm fronds. The foreground flamingo’s curved neck echoes the postures of the birds behind it, while long legs and sharply defined shadows anchor the composition.

The story

I framed the nearest flamingo as its neck curved back toward its feathers. Behind it, the other birds repeated the gesture in loose variations, each absorbed in its own small ritual. What drew me was the contrast between those brilliant bodies and the spare geometry of their legs and shadows. Through the viewfinder, the scene became a quiet arrangement of curves, with each bird holding its own space.
