A loose assembly of birds fills the sky above low green vegetation, pale sand, and tangled bare branches. Peach and gold light spreads through sweeping clouds, while the low horizon gives the birds room to register as individual gestures within an expansive, animated scene.
The story
The year is only six days old, and the sky is full of crossings. Above the dense scrub, birds wheel through bands of apricot light, their wings alternately dark and pale. A few pass close enough for their spread feathers to stand out; others diminish to small marks above the branches. Below this restless air, green groundcover and exposed sand hold their quiet shapes.
