A butterfly holds its orange-and-black wings open beneath a cluster of vivid pink flowers, its cream markings punctuating the dark wing tips. Bright light reveals fine wing veins and ridged leaves, while softly blurred foliage isolates the insect’s broad, diagonal silhouette in a moment of delicate stillness.
The story
On this January day, the frame holds a small world of saturated color. The butterfly rests against pink blossoms, its slender antennae tracing pale lines above its head. Light passes through orange panels and catches the raised veins of the surrounding leaves. Here, at the beginning of the year, attention narrows to the quiet contact between an insect and a flower.
