Amber Without Edges

About this piece
Interlocking, ripple-like forms fill the photograph with amber, gold, rust red, and silvery gray. Bright contours gather around darker pockets, creating a densely woven surface with no horizon or single focal point. The composition holds warmth and metallic coolness in a restless balance.
The story
Late November finds a reserve of warmth in this amber field. The eye follows a silver thread until it bends into red, then disappears beneath another fold of gold. Each small enclosure seems to hold a little light apart from the rest. Nothing beyond the frame offers a measure of scale; for a moment, this intricate surface is enough.
