A Chorus Of Glaze
MG-1847
Category: Abstract
March 2021
About this piece
Glazed ceramic fish fill the frame, their orange heads and cobalt fins surrounding bodies painted with floral motifs. Bright light catches the curved surfaces, while shallow focus separates the central fish from the surrounding display. The diagonal wooden edge anchors a composition alive with saturated color and repeated forms.
The story
On this March day, light gathers on the ceramic fish in small, brilliant points. Painted flowers spread across their bodies, carrying a garden into an imagined sea. Orange fins reach over the worn wood while cobalt shapes recede into softness. Everything remains still, yet the clustered forms suggest a shoal turning together.
