About this piece

A shallow woodland stream threads between moss-covered boulders beneath a canopy of gold, rust, and lingering green. Cool sky reflections open the foreground, drawing the eye upstream toward slender trunks and sunlit foliage. The softly rendered water contrasts with textured stone and fallen leaves, lending the scene a measured stillness.

The story

Late October gathers in the hollows between stones, where copper leaves rest against bright green moss. The stream slips around each boulder, carrying the sky through the forest in ribbons of blue. Above it, thinning branches leave more room for light. Water continues through the small channels while the fallen leaves collect along its edges.
