A broad, branching tree anchors the right side of a grassy landscape, its weathered limbs spreading across a clear blue sky. Low sunlight forms a starburst between the trunks and gilds the seed heads below, contrasting warm edges with deep green shadows. Scattered trees and exposed rocks lend depth to the still, open woodland.

The story

On this late-November day, the sun rests in a narrow opening between the tree’s limbs. Light catches the grass seed by seed, making a golden fringe above the shaded ground. The rough trunk remains dark beside that brightness, its branches tracing fine paths across the blue. Beyond it, smaller trees repeat the pattern, and the eye travels quietly from one opening of sky to another.
