About this piece

A gnarled tree anchors the right side of a grassy slope, its divided trunk framing a brilliant sunburst. Low sunlight gilds the grass and sparse foliage, while dark rocks and branching shadows punctuate the foreground beneath an expansive blue sky. The composition balances the tree’s intricate silhouette with open space, lending the landscape a quiet intensity.

The story

On this late-November day, light gathers in the fork of a tree. Across the slope, grass seed heads catch its warmth, each fine edge briefly distinct against the shadows. Dark stones sit among the green, and smaller trees trace spare outlines along the rise. The sky remains clear and spacious above this small concentration of gold.
