About this piece

Trees rendered in brilliant cyan and deep blue rise beneath a star-filled sky in rust and amber tones. The central trunks draw the eye upward through an intricate canopy, while shadowed trees at the edges frame the luminous woodland. Strong color contrasts give the nocturnal scene an otherworldly stillness.

The story

On this late-November night, the woodland takes on the colors of flame and ice. Blue light traces the trunks and divides into ever finer branches, revealing a delicate lattice against the sky. Above the canopy, countless points of amber light seem to extend its branching pattern into the distance. The forest floor recedes into darkness, and the eye lingers where the highest leaves meet the stars.
