About this piece

Vivid red light reveals twisting trunks, fine branches, and scattered foliage beneath a star-filled sky. The vertical composition follows the central tree upward from the dark woodland floor into an expansive field of distant light, creating a striking tension between earthly intensity and celestial quiet.

The story

On this late-November night, the trees emerge from darkness in brilliant red. Light traces the bends of their trunks and gathers along the smallest twigs, while the woodland behind them recedes into shadow. Above the canopy, stars scatter across the open blackness. The eye travels from one illuminated branch to another, then rests where their reach ends and the sky continues.
