About this piece
A blue-framed arched window anchors a close composition of curved white walls, winding steps and a terracotta pot of green foliage. Strong sunlight reveals the rough plaster and casts sharply defined shadows, while magenta bougainvillea crowns the frame. The meeting of sculptural architecture and abundant planting gives this small space a sheltered stillness.
The story
Late July light settles across the white plaster, revealing each ridge and shallow irregularity. The steps turn past a blue window whose glass holds a warm, golden reflection. Above the walls, bougainvillea gathers in vivid magenta clusters; below, a fallen bract rests on the dark paving. A leafy shrub fills its weathered pot beside the narrow way, where bright surfaces give way to deep shade.
