White Within Green

About this piece
Two white blossoms form a diagonal across a field of saturated green foliage, with the nearer flower revealing finely textured, overlapping petals. Bright light and cool shadows give the petals sculptural depth, while shallow focus softens the surrounding leaves into a quiet wash of color.
The story
Late November finds a small world still filled with green. A white blossom opens toward the viewer, its layered petals holding pale blue shadows around a recessed center. Behind it, another flower slips gently out of focus. The calendar moves toward the year's end, but within this close frame, light rests on the smallest folds.
