A grove of leaning palms frames the low sun above an ocean horizon, their dark trunks dividing the water into narrow luminous openings. Golden light catches the fronds, clouds, and rocky shore, while saturated blue sky and sea lend cool depth to the radiant coastal scene.
The story
Late November finds the palm canopy green and edged with gold. Beneath it, the ground lies in deep shade, crossed by narrow bands of sunlight. Beyond the trunks, small waves break white against the rocks, and a bright reflection reaches across the water. The eye follows that light outward, leaving the shelter of the grove for the open horizon.
