The story
Late June light rests on the broken edges of the wood, drawing gold from its rough surface. Through the opening, a lighthouse stands beneath soft clouds, its lantern enclosed in glass and dark metal. The eye follows the grain outward, then returns to the slender white tower. For a moment, the weathered barrier becomes a window, holding a quiet piece of sky.
