Where Gold Meets Water

About this piece
A concrete pier extends diagonally from the upper left toward the horizon, its repeated supports reflected in gently rippling water. Low sunlight burns gold beneath the deck, contrasting with the blue sky and sea. A curved ribbon of shore foam softens the structure’s strong geometry, lending the scene a measured calm.
The story
On this May day, the low sun finds a narrow opening between the pier’s supports. Gold spreads across the water, breaking into small fragments with each ripple. Along the shore, a wave folds into white foam and slides over the reflective sand. Above it, the railings and lamps diminish toward the horizon, holding a steady line against the moving sea.
