The story

On this November day, blue fills the spaces between the boats, stretching from their worn hulls toward the distant rocks. Gold gathers along a white gunwale and slips into the water beneath it. Far beyond the moorings, a lone paddleboarder stands against the pale surface, with a sailboat farther out. Small ripples loosen every reflection, but the boats remain held close to their posts.
