About this piece

Viewed from beneath a broad rock arch, a desert landscape opens toward scattered stone towers and distant blue ridges. Warm light reveals the arch’s fractured texture, while its enclosing curve frames an expansive sky above the low horizon. Small walkers and a winding road lend human scale to the monumental stillness.

The story

September light gathers along the orange underside of the arch, bringing its seams and ripples into relief. Beyond the stone opening, thin white clouds stretch across a brilliant blue sky. Walkers appear small on the sandy path below, amid scattered green shrubs. A road curves toward the distant towers, but the eye returns to the rough sweep of rock overhead.
