The story

September light spreads gold across the sky and catches in the rough grasses beside the asphalt. A vehicle passes, its taillights stretching into brief red strokes. The road narrows toward the rock formations, carrying movement into a landscape that seems to hold its breath. Along the gravel shoulder, small leaves and stems remain sharply visible beneath the immense silhouettes.
