A rocky stream descends through dense green woodland, its flowing water rendered in soft white ribbons among sharply textured boulders. Diffuse daylight reveals mossy greens and rose-colored stone, while the wide composition follows the cascades from the upper right toward the foreground. A prominent reddish boulder anchors the scene against the water’s continuous movement.

The story

December opens here in green, with foliage gathered thickly above the stream. Water meets a red boulder and parts, slipping through narrow channels before spreading into pale folds. Moss brightens the stones along its passage, marking the boundary between solid weight and flowing light. The stream’s low rush fills the space beneath the trees; everything moves around what remains still.
