Where Green Gathers

About this piece

A forest-lined river curves beneath a sheer gray rock face, its dark surface carrying green and gold reflections. Warm sunlight illuminates foliage, exposed roots, and fallen timber along the opposite bank, while overhanging branches frame the view. The contrast between dense woodland and open water gives the composition a sheltered stillness.

The story

Late June light gathers in the leaves and spills across the river in long green bands. Along the sandy bank, roots reach out from beneath the trees, their tangled forms briefly bare before the water. Small ripples loosen the reflected forest into threads of gold and shadow. Beyond the branches, the pale cliff rises above this softer world, holding its own unmoving silence.
