The story

Late July light settles across the white roofs, exposing every small ripple in the plaster. Beneath its cross, a green bell hangs motionless against the blue. Terraces and stairways gather along the hillside, their shaded recesses offering brief relief from the brightness. Beyond the buildings, sunlight breaks into countless points on the water. The eye returns to the bell, held in the open space between roof and sky.
