A blue-domed church rises among whitewashed buildings and stepped terraces above a sea dotted with sailboats. Strong sunlight traces the curved masonry and scatters across the water, while distant rocky cliffs draw a dark horizontal boundary beneath the open sky. Red and yellow facades punctuate the predominantly blue-and-white composition.

The story

Late July light gathers on the dome and spills across the white walls. Below, sailboats sit scattered over water textured with countless bright flecks. A fringed parasol shades an empty terrace, its chairs turned toward the sea. Between the close embrace of the buildings and the distant ridge, the afternoon seems to widen.
