Two pale Adirondack chairs flank a small table on a waterfront terrace, facing an expanse of turquoise water. Bright sunlight casts slatted shadows across the paving, while leafy branches frame the left edge and a lone paddler and distant sailboat give scale to the open view. The balanced foreground and nearly seamless meeting of sea and sky lend the scene a sense of unhurried repose.
The story
July light settles across the empty chairs, warming their pale surfaces and drawing dark stripes beneath them. Beyond the terrace, a paddler occupies a small patch of blue, with open water on every side. A sailboat rests near the far edge of the view, its mast a fine vertical against the sky. The little table holds nothing; for now, the horizon is enough.
