The story

July light lies across the boards, drawing out each pale ridge of wood. Between the dark-capped pilings, a yellow chair waits beside the water. Small ripples loosen the reflections without disturbing the broad blue calm. The walkway offers a simple destination: a place to sit where the eye can travel farther than the feet.
