The story

I moved close enough for the surrounding leaves to dissolve into green, leaving these orange folds suspended against the light. What held my attention was the difference in scale: broad, overlapping bracts sheltering small flowers that opened at their tips. I framed the two hanging clusters together, following the space between them. Through the lens, their color felt almost weightless, a brief flare held within the shade of the foliage.
