About this piece

A tightly framed automobile detail brings a chrome wire-spoked wheel and its whitewall tire into sharp focus beside red bodywork and receding chrome pipes. Bright light reveals fine scratches and blue reflections in the polished metal, while the crossing spokes contrast with the softer diagonal rhythm behind them.

The story

On this November day, light gathers along the spokes and breaks into small, brilliant points. Red paint and blue reflections meet in the curved chrome, their shapes stretching around the hub. The whitewall forms a pale border between the wheel’s intricate lattice and the parallel pipes beyond. Everything rests, yet the intersecting lines hold a suggestion of motion.
