A blue church dome and an ornate white clock tower frame an expanse of saturated, cloudless sky. Strong sunlight defines the textured walls and angular shadows, setting their ascending planes against the dome’s broad curve. The low viewpoint gives the architecture a quiet monumentality.

The story

Late July light gathers on the white walls, revealing fine irregularities in the plaster. The eye climbs their stepped edges toward the blue dome, where a cross catches a narrow gleam. Across the open sky, the clock face offers a small measure of time. Beneath it, the layered arches hold their shade.
