Two sharply rendered blossoms stand against a loose lattice of woody stems, while another flower softens into the leafy background. Saturated coral petals, sculptural white centers, and fine yellow-tipped stamens give this close botanical study its vibrant palette and intricate texture.

The story

I found my frame where the flowers interrupted the tangle of branches. At first, the coral petals held my attention; then I noticed the small yellow tips, the curved white centers, and the rounded buds waiting beside them. I kept the woody stems in view rather than isolating a single bloom. Their crossing lines gave the flowers a setting, a rough architecture against which every soft edge seemed more distinct.
