Mike Gedj’s elevated beach view gathers umbrellas, loungers and bathers into a sunlit pattern beside turquoise water. The diagonal shoreline divides the densely occupied sand from the more open sea, while repeated blues draw the two spaces together.
The story
From above, I watched the beach become a field of small arrangements: chairs angled toward the water, umbrellas gathered in blue clusters, people pausing where the waves thinned across the sand. My eye kept moving between the crowded shore and the swimmers scattered farther out. I wanted to hold both rhythms in one frame—the busy geometry of a shared summer day and the water opening beyond it.
