A diagonal shoreline divides broad turquoise water from a densely occupied beach, where umbrellas, canopies, and bathers form a bright mosaic. Seen from above, the scene balances the fine detail of a summer crowd with the open expanse of the sea.
The story
From above, I watched the shoreline gather people into a loose, shifting ribbon. Blue umbrellas echoed the water, while brighter patches of red and yellow kept drawing my eye back to the sand. I framed the beach along one side, leaving room for the sea to stretch away from all that activity. What held me was the contrast: so many separate afternoons unfolding together, and beyond them, water spacious enough to make the crowd seem delicate.
