Two slender, ornamented towers rise above a dense canopy, while rowboats cross the green water below. Bright sunlight warms the stone façades and catches the foreground pink flowers, linking architectural height with intimate shoreline detail. Broad expanses of sky and rippling reflection give the layered composition an unhurried, spacious mood.
The story
August light rests on the towers and picks out the edges of the leaves. An oar lifts from the lake, spilling a brief silver splash beside the nearest boat. Across the water, smaller boats drift along the dark margin of trees. Pink flowers hold their place at the shore while the reflected buildings loosen into wavering bands of gold and blue.
