The story

I followed the four aircraft through the frame, watching the spaces between them as much as the machines themselves. Their blue and white markings echoed the sky, but the dark noses held a decisive line forward. Behind them, smoke widened and softened, already losing the precision of the formation. I wanted to hold that contrast: four solid shapes moving together, and the loose white traces of where they had been.
