Seen from below, the Statue of Liberty lifts its golden torch above a green copper figure and a substantial stone pedestal. Bright light articulates the robe’s folds and masonry, while elongated white clouds cross the blue sky. Small visitors along the parapet establish scale within a composition of monumental stillness.
The story
August light catches the flame, a small brilliance above the weathered green copper. Clouds stretch across the sky while the raised arm holds its unwavering line. Along the pedestal, visitors appear as fleeting traces against the solid stone. The eye follows the folds upward, leaving those small movements behind for the quiet gold of the torch.
