White ribbons of water descend across a fractured rock face into a deep green pool. Softened water contrasts with the sharply textured foreground boulders, while moss and overhanging foliage carry green through the composition.
The story
I framed the falls from behind the boulders, letting their weight anchor the moving water. My eye kept returning to the mossy rock that divided the cascade: one narrow stream on the left, a broader white curtain on the right. Between the stones and the falling water, the pool held a quieter shade of green. I wanted the photograph to preserve that balance, the restless descent and the stillness that seemed to gather around it.
