A Pause In Blue

About this piece
A blue butterfly rests with its wings fully spread across a honey-colored wooden railing, its dark veins and uneven wing margins sharply defined. Bright light intensifies the contrast between iridescent blue and warm wood, while diagonal grain and softly blurred greenery frame a moment of stillness.
The story
On this January day, a small expanse of blue holds the eye against golden wood. The butterfly rests open-winged, its fine veins branching through the light. Along the dark borders, notches and frayed edges interrupt the luminous surface. Beyond the railing, green dissolves into shadow, leaving this brief pause clear and close.
