About this piece
A tabby-and-white cat stretches across a pale ledge, one forepaw lifted toward the camera. Strong sunlight defines its fur and casts crisp shadows, while a thick rope cuts diagonally across the foreground. The softly blurred sea, distant landforms, and buildings frame an intimate portrait of watchful ease.
The story
Late July light falls across the ledge, catching the fine hairs of a raised paw. The cat rests its cheek against the pale surface and watches through narrowed eyes. Along the foreground, coarse rope gathers alternating bands of brightness and shadow. Beyond this small resting place, the sea opens blue beneath a lightly clouded sky; the cat has no apparent reason to hurry.
